Competition for Receiving Temporary Academic Exemption

In order to receive a temporary exemption from mandatory military service, the Ministry of Education and Science today held a competition for applicants who have made noticeable achievements in the field of education and science.A special committee was created by the order of the Minister of Science and Education. Emil Margaryan, the head of Department of Law, explained the process of the competition, emphasizing that the committee will study 17 applications who would receive a temporary exemption from mandatory military service, 9 of them from citizens studying for their Bachelor of Science, 3 towards their Master’s and 5 PhD candidates. The Commission's findings, the protocol, the applications and supporting documents will be submitted to the head of the authorized body in the sphere of education and science.
The basis for the aforementioned process was the Government Decree of April 12, 2018 , which said,"The order and conditions of giving a temporary exemption from mandatory military service to those who have made significant achievements in education and science."
