The Government of the Republic of Armenia Aims to Continue and Develop the "Stable School Food" Program

In the Shirak Region of Armenia, during a ceremony held for the handing over of the "School Food" Program from the UN Food Program (WFP) to the RA Government, The Acting Minister, Arayik Harutyunyan, met with Elena Milosevic, the Director of the Armenian office of WFP; Anna Valkova, the Deputy Director of International Financial Relations Department of RF Ministry of Finance; Vladimir Chernigov, the Chairman of the Russian Institute of Food Industry; and Bagrat Yesayan, the Director of the "Stable School Food" Foundation. Emphasizing the importance of the “Stable School Food” program and its handing over to the national program, Arayik Harutyunyan has noted that they intend to continue organizing the "Stable School Food" in schools because nutrition promotes efficiency of education.He emphasized that the Government of Armenia aims to continue and develop the program, as well as the activities of the "Stable School Food" Foundation, which coordinates and monitors the implementation of the national program.
Referring to the productive implementation of the "Stable School Food" Program in Armenia and its future funding, the representative of the RF Ministry of Finance, Anna Valkova, stressed that one of the major achievements of the program is the “Stable School Food” Foundation, responsible for the entire process. In his turn, talking about the Foundation's activities, the Director of the Russian Institute of Food Industry, Vladimir Chernigov, emphasized that the WFP is implementing this program in more than 70 countries and Armenia is the only country that is enforcing this program by way of an institutional structure. The Foundation not only unites all the fundamentals of the projects but unifies community organizations as well.
During the meeting the parties discussed a number of technical issues related to the materializing the project.
