Armenia-Germany: New Perspectives of Strengthening Scientific-Educational Relations

During his visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, the RA Acting Minister of Education and Science, Arayik Harutyunyan, met with the Sachsen-Anhalt State Minister of Economy, Science and Digitalisation, Professor Armin Willingmann, the State Secretary, J. Ude, and the rector of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Jens Strackeljan. Issues on organizing higher education, as well as exchange programs for students specialized in medicine and technique were discussed. At the meeting, a consensus on strengthening inter-university relations and developing cooperation agreements between higher educational institutions was reached. During the working lunch given in honor of the RA Acting Minister of Education and Science, Arayik Harutyunyan, by the Sachsen-Anhalt State Minister of Education, Marco Tullner, the outlined reforms in general education and the opportunities for the localization of the German experience were discussed.
The delegation, headed by Arayik Harutyunyan, attended the ceremony dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Mesrop Armenian Studies Center of the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. The Acting Minister, Arayik Harutyunyan, awarded the renowned Armenologist, the University professor, Armenuhi Drost-Abgarjan, with the Gold Medal of the Ministry of Education and Science.
