Today, the board of trustees of Armenian National Agrarian University held a meeting, where they discussed the election of the president and secretary of the board. Member of National Assembly, Hovik Aghazaryan, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Armen Harutyunyan nominated as presidents of the board. After the voting, Armen Hatuyunyan appointed as a president. Students also appointed the secretary of the board.
During the meeting, the members of the board discussed and approved the resignation of Rector Arshalus Tarverdyan. The director of the university's Agribusiness center, Vardan Urutyan and Vice-rector Daniel Petrosyan nominated as temporary rectors of the university. 7 out of 17 members voted for Vardan Urutyan. He will serve as a rector until the competition is announced for the position of the rector.
Moreover, the participants of the meeting decided to review the responsibilities of the rector and make some changes in the charter.
Additionally, other ongoing issues were discussed at the meeting.
