New ways of Armenia – Georgia Education Cooperation

The strengthening of the Armenian-Georgian educational relations and the new ways of cooperation were at the core of the meeting between the RA Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Armenia Giorgi Saganelidze.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the RA Minister of Education and Science mentioned that the domain of education plays a special role in the Armenian-Georgian friendly relations and this is why during his short period in office he has already seen certain cooperative opportunities with his Georgian colleague. Arayik Harutyunyan referred to touched upon the problem of providing Armenian schools, in Georgia, with Armenian Language and Literature textbooks, at the same time he underlined that each issue in Armenian-Georgian relations is resolved in time, especially when there is a political will.
The Ambassador of Georgia, in his turn, emphasized the friendly relations between the two countries and expressed readiness to exchange experiences in the field of education and to face challenges together. According to Ambassador Saganelidze, there is no issue in the Armenian-Georgian relations that cannot be settled.
During the meeting, they also discussed the forthcoming visit of the RA Minister of Education and Science to Georgia, during which time the heads of the educational departments of neighboring countries would discuss new ways of cooperation in the field of education and existing problems.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the current state of cooperation in the sphere of higher education, particularly exchange programs of students and the possibility of granting scholarships, collaboration with Tumo Center of Creative Technologies in Yerevan, providing Armenian fictional literature for Armenian schools in Georgia, the necessity of teacher training methodology courses, etc.
At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to identify issues of mutual interests through active dialogue and ensure further cooperation.
