Minister of Education and Science received World Bank's Global Education Practice Manager

Minister of Education and Science of RA Levon Mkrtchyan received the delegation, headed by Christian Aedo, the World Bank's Global Education Practice Manager. The meeting was also attended by the World Bank’s “Education Improvement” project co-manager Nino Kutanadze, expert and specialist for the World Bank’s Education Global Practice Oni Lusk-Stover, as well as other experts and representatives of the education sector of RA.
The meeting featured current projects implemented in Armenia, supported by the World Bank and the further projects, aimed at fostering reforms in higher, vocational and general education sectors.
Minister expressed gratitude to the World Bank’s representatives for the ongoing support provided to the education sector, highlighting the specified directions, from the perspective of education reforms sustainability and productivity, to be integrated in the new project, funded by the World Bank.
Minister Mkrtchyan introduced to the WB representatives the main directions of the education reforms, underlining a number of issues related to the education system, curriculum, student mobility in the RA higher education institutions, establishment of untouchable funds at the universities, etc.
The parties touched upon a range of working and organizational issues at the meeting.
