Asian Development Bank to provide expert support to education reforms

Minister of Education and Science of RA Levon Mkrtchyan had a working meeting with ADB Armenian Office Director Shane Rosentale, Head of ADB Social Department Raj Hiraoka and ADB education expert Jouko Sarvi. The meeting focused on the cooperation programmes with the Asian Development Bank in the sectors of education and science.
Levon Mkrtchyan welcomed the guest and emphasized the cooperation with the Asian Development Bank, highlighting the expert support to the Education Development State Programme and the development of the follow-up operational projects and to the advancement of the general education management system at the school, local and national levels. The Minister also addressed the trilateral productive cooperation among the Ministry, Center of Strategic Initiatives and ADB, meanwhile stressing the importance of the prospective project for teachers’ training, which undergoes a stage of discussions.
ADB Armenian Office Director Shane Rosentale, on his part, expressed willingness to continue the discussions on the assistance of the above mentioned prospective project and underscored the importance of implementing effective policy and ensuring positive outcomes.
The sides also discussed a range of technical and working issues within the cooperation at the meeting.
