Minister accepted Erasmus+ expert group

Minister of Education and Science of RA Levon Mkrtchyan met with Lana Karlova, Director of Erasmus+ programme National office in Armenia and Higher Education Reform Experts.
L. Mkrtchyan welcomed the guests and noted, that according to the RA President’s assignment, the Ministry of Education and Science should submit the basic provisions of reforms in higher education system within a six month period. Within this context, Minister underlined the significant role of the Erasmus+ programme in higher education reform process and called on all the experts to support the implementation of reform development process.
Minister also informed, that 3 working groups regarding higher education reforms were set up and operated at the Ministry in three directions: higher education reform funding, enhancement of educational programmes productivity in higher education sector and development of university network. Minister Mkrtchyan also added that professional background of Erasmus+ experts obtained at the European University level, would be more applicable and useful in providing student mobility.
On her part, Lara Karlova introduced Higher Education Reform Experts and underlined, that such kind of expert groups exist in 27 countries worldwide, the aim being to back higher education reforms in national countries. In Armenia the expert group formed in 2008. The head of National Erasmus+ Office in Armenia assured that the experts are willing to share their knowledge and capacity in the implementation of reforms.
Parties emphasized the essential role of a student and also of regional visits. An agreement was reached to hold such kind of discussions regularly.
