Presented results of the research “Generation of Independence: Research Among Young People, Armenia 2016”

The Armenian branch of Friedrich Ebert Foundation on Tuesday presented the results of the research “Generation of Independence: Research Among Young People, Armenia 2016.”
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Karine Harutyunyan attended the event and welcomed the participants, underlining the significance of such kind of researches, as they reveal issues of concern to youth and benefit the further strategic work of the Ministry and the targeted decision-making.
Julia Bläsius, who is the Director of the FES South Caucasus Office, noted, that the research was undertaken to reveal how young generation make positive changes, support them and reach success. The research brought to light the lack of financial resources needed for receiving vocational education, which is a key issue. On the other hand, the knowledge of young people doesn’t assure finding a job according to their profession, which is another issue.
The presentation of the research results was followed by the discussion and question and answers. The research was carried out by the Armenian office of Friedrich Ebert Foundation in cooperation with Department of Sociology of the Yerevan State University. The target group of the survey included 19-24year-old 1200 young people from Yerevan and other regions of Armenia.
