Armenian-Indian new agreement on educational cooperation to be signed

Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan today held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia Yogeshwar Sangwan.
Welcoming the guest, the Minister noted that the centuries-old Armenian-Indian friendly relations play a significant role for our country, especially in the educational-cultural sector. In this context, Levon Mkrtchyan stressed the importance of the implementation of practical steps aimed at developing and enhancing the cooperation.
At the meeting the conversation mainly touched upon the draft agreement on the “Mutual recognition of higher and postgraduate vocational education qualifications between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of India”. The agreement envisages establishing and developing direct contacts in the higher education system, as well as with research institutions, exchange of students, researchers, and mutual recognition of experience in education and science. The agreement will contribute to exchange of experience between the two sides, will assist in organizing lectures, scientific conferences and will enhance the development and implementation of joint projects.
The Indian Ambassador thanked for the existing cooperation in the education sector and expressed hope that the signing of the agreement will give a new impetus to strengthening and developing the educational cooperation between the two countries
