Armenia-Iran cooperation in the field of nanotechnology

Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan today received Seyyed Kazem Sajjad, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to RA and the delegation headed by Saeed Sarkar, professor and president of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC).
Welcoming the Ambassador and the delegation, Minister Levon Mkrtchyan noted that friendly relations with Iran in the sphere of education and science have more practical nature and expand the scope of cooperation. According to him, the science sector, particularly the field of nanotechnologies now can be added to the cooperation areas between the two countries in the fields of higher and secondary education.
Expressing gratitude to the Minister for the warm reception and the cooperation in the mentioned sector, Mr. Sajjad proposed signing a Memorandum of cooperation in the science sector. According to the Ambassador it will enhance the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education and science. Armenian Minister of Education and Science emphasized the role of signing a Memorandum too.
Saeed Sarqar made a video presentation on the promotional activities carried out in the field of nanotechnologies and possibilities for cooperation with Armenia in the education system, particularly in the secondary education sector. According to the professor, performing a leading role in the region, Iran is ready for the implementation of joint projects in the fields of education and science through effective partnership.
Minister Mkrtchyan welcomed the initiative and noted that Armenia is already a member of Horizon 2020 and has extensive capabilities for implementing research projects with European countries.
A number of issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
