Memorandum of Cooperation to be Signed

Today, Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy Giovanni Ricciulli. Welcoming the Ambassador, Levon Mkrtchyan noted, “Armenian-Italian relations have existed for centuries and are significant for our country mainly in the educational and cultural sector”. In this context, Levon Mkrtchyan underlined the importance of undertaking practical steps for promotion and enhancement of cooperation. During the meeting, the conversation mainly progressed around the Memorandum of Cooperation to be signed in the upcoming week in the field of education and science between the Ministry of Education and Science of RA and the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research of Italy. According to the memorandum the sides will it is planned to establish and develop relations between the secondary, vocational and higher education, as well research institutions and will support the implementation of the eTwinning program among the education institutions. The sides also will encourage exchange programs of students, professors and researchers for mutual recognition of educational and scientific experience. The Memorandum will facilitate the exchange of experience and skills among researchers and professors, will back the organization of trainings, joint seminars, conferences, will boost the development and implementation of joint projects.
The ambassador thanked for the cooperation and expressed hope that the signing of the Memorandum will give a new impetus to the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries in the field of science and education.
