Awards to the Best Participants of the “eTwinning” Program

2018-12-24

The final conference of the “eTwinning” program for the European schools took place in “Quantum” college. The major achievements of the program in 2018 and the main developments in 2019-2020 were presented during the event.
National Quality Award Program took place during the conference. The best pupils, teachers and schools that participated in the “eTwinning” program in 2018 were awarded with certificates and prizes. The Adviser to the Minister, Gohar Mamikonyan, welcomed the participants of the event on behalf of the RA Acting Minister of Education and Science, Arayik Harutyunyan: “On behalf of the Minister, congratulations to each school and participant involved in the program! The Ministry gives primary significance to the projects aimed at the professional development of teachers and the effective organization of the classes: they will be useful for all the stakeholders of the education system. The “eTwinning” program has become an efficient platform for the international cooperation, and it is necessary to increase the number of the schools, teachers and pupils involved in the program”, G. Mamikonyan mentioned in her speech.
As the director of the National Center of Educational Technologies, Artak Poghosyan, said, presently almost 300 Armenian schools and 1200 teachers from the regions and Yerevan are involved in the program. “The participation of the Armenian schools in the “eTwinning” program is useful; it helps increase school collaboration, teacher-pupil foreign language acquisition, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) development, and teamwork”, the director of the NCET, Artak Poghosyan, mentioned.
About one and a half dozen teachers took part in various international events in 2018. 60 representatives from 7 European countries participated in the “eTwinning” international seminar in May of this year. Some of the projects developed during the Armenian seminar became winners of the European program.
This year, 37 projects for three age groups were submitted nationally in the “eTwinning” program contest.
Armenian schools have been participating in the “eTwinning” program since 2013. Taking into consideration the fact that the projects of the “eTwinning” program are implemented in European languages, creating some issues for teachers, the NCET has initiated the process of Armenianization of the program. The “Schools Collaboration Virtual Community” National Program has been created, which gives an opportunity to get involved in the “eTwinning” program presenting different projects in the Armenian language.
