Arayik Harutyunyan Welcomed the Moscow Pedagogical University Delegation

The acting Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan today met with the delegation headed by Alexey Lubkov, MPGU Rector and the President of the Eurasian Association of Pedagogical Universities. The representatives of the Armenian State Pedagogical University were also present at the meeting. The acting Minister greeted the guests and congratulated Alexey Lubkov on receiving an honorary Doctorate Degree from the Armenian State Pedagogical University. In his speech, Arayik Harutyunyan outlined that in the context of reforming the education system, it is also essential to prepare pedagogues as well as ongoing teacher training. The acting Minister of Education and Science emphasized the importance of improving foreign language instruction, especially Russian, and underlined that the two pedagogical universities may play a huge role in this issue. A. Harutyunyan also stated that it is not possible to imagine education in the 21st century without using Information Technology and added that it is a priority to create modern digital content in education.
Alexey Lubkov thanked the acting Minister for the warm welcome and relayed the Minister of Enlightenment of Russia ,O. Vasileva's greetings. The Rector valued the cooperation between the two pedagogical universities in the Armenian-Russian relations, underlining that there is a basis for expansion.
At the end of the meeting Arayik Harutyunyan congratulated those present on the occasion of the upcoming holidays and mentioned that within the framework of the planned visit to Russia, he will have the opportunity to visit the Moscow State Pedagogical University and get acquainted with the opportunities of the educational institution.
