New Perspectives for Armenian-Argentinean Educational Cooperation

Today, RA Minister of Education and Science Araik Harutyunyan, hosted Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Argentina to Armenia Gonzalo Urriolabeitia.
Welcoming the guest, the Minister of Education and Science underlined that the strong basis of existing Armenian-Argentinean relations has created opportunities for raising the bilateral relations to a qualitatively newer level and implemented further programs in the education system. According to Araik Harutyunyan, the precondition for the further implementation in the education system was the potential of Armenian-Argentinean agreement. Speaking about the priorities of cooperation with international organizations, the Minister of Education and Science highlighted the process of internationalization of the Armenian higher educational institutions, stressing IT and engineering specialties. In the context of cooperation, Arayik Harutyunyan underlined the importance of the formation of the Armenian educational brand, emphasizing the fact that there was a great interest towards the “Tumo” Center for Creative Technologies in several European countries.
Ambassador Gonzalo Urriolabeitia stressed that the strong foundation of the two countries were conditioned by both Governments and the Armenian Diaspora. According to the Ambassador, education was one of the priorities of the Embassy of Argentina and they were willing to cooperate. Introducing the Armenian-Argentinean cooperation programs in education, Mr. Urriolabétia pointed out their cooperation with the Yerevan BRUSOV State University of Languages and Social Sciences stressing the opening of the Argentinean Center in the near future, which would encourage instructing Argentinean Spanish and would also improve the qualifications of instructors and lecturers.
Among the prospective programs, the Ambassador noted the importance of publication in Spanish and introducing agricultural programs within schools.
They also discussed Yerevan "Argentinean Republic" N 76 and Vagharshapat Eurnekian Schools, as well as issues related to teaching Spanish in efficient way.
