"We should return education to higher educational institutes." Arayik Harutyunyan

Today, minister of RA Ministry of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan met the professors and teachers of Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi. Minister of RA Ministry of Healthcare and directors of hospitals were also present.
Arayik Harutyun welcomed the participants and mentioned that the main reason for the meeting was to discuss some problems related to higher educational institutes, suggestions, and concerns.
Minister of RA Ministry of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan, in his turn, talked about the importance of having the right professionals and their distribution.
The rector of YSMU introduced the history of the university, shared some statistics and plans.
The participants asked plenty of questions to the ministers. They were mainly interested in future improvements in higher education, financial support, exam administration and licensing private medical educational institutions.
In response, Minister Arayik Harutyun highlighted that the government would increase the budget for education, but they should work on specific projects to maximize the effecting of the improvement. He then mentioned "We should do our best to return education to the higher educational institutes which will result in improvements.” He also touched upon topics related to the formation of governing body, freedom in HEI-s, the creation of competitive environment and more.
