We are with you and will solve all the problems, says Arayik Harutyunyan

Today, at the invitation of RA Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan, children with special educational needs, teachers, and a number of parents from Vagharshapat Special School N2 have visited the Ministry of Education and Science. By the decision of the RA government the above-mentioned school will be reorganized into a regional pedagogical and psychological counselling center. The participants expressed certain concerns referring the organization of further education of children in comprehensive schools.
Minister Arayik Harutyunyan mentioned that the transition to universal inclusion is aimed at maximum social integration of children with special educational needs, so that they no longer remain isolated. Emphasizing that there are certain concerns as a result of the lack of explanatory work with the parents the minister mentioned, “We are with you and I assure you that the process will not harm the child. We will solve all the problems one by one by cooperating with parents in order to reduce all the possible risks”. It was mentioned that in the pedagogical and psychological center each child will have an individual educational and service plan and the staff of the center will perform their functions properly.
At the end of the meeting the parties agreed to meet again in order to discuss the issue more precisely.
