Memorandum in the fields of education and science between Armenia and Iran

Minister of Education and Science of RA Levon Mkrtchyan hosted the delegation, headed by Minister of Science, Research and Technologies of Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Farhadi. The Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Science, Research and Technologies during the meeting.
The RA Minister welcomed and thanked the Iranian delegation for the visit to Armenia. He stressed that the above mentioned Memorandum was the outcome of a long-term work, which covered the fields of vocational education and science.
Minister of IRI noted on his part that he was pleased to pay a visit to Armenia at the invitation of his Armenian counterpart. He underlined in his speech that the Memorandum focused on the development of the fields of science, education and technologies, which would enable to foster and enhance the cooperation between the two countries. M. Farhadi also added, that besides the students’ and professors’ exchange, they would also share practice. “We’ll provide short and long-term scholarships. Not only higher education institutions, but the science parks as well will cooperate”, stressed the Iranian Minister.
Within the framework of the MoU, the sides will promote the cooperation among scientific organizations, universities and research institutions, as well as will enhance the relations between the scientific communities of two countries. The parties will also encourage collaboration between research institutions and will exchange information on educational systems and programs, will contribute to the exchange of the academic, administrative staff and experts, will share knowledge on science-technology parks, management and practice and will provide mutual scholarships, etc.
The sides will set up a joint committee of science, research and technologies and will held meetings every two years.
