Minister of Education and Science received Professor of Warsaw University

Minister of Education and Science of RA Levon Mkrtchyan received Karol Karski, Doctor of Law, a Polish politician, Head of the department of international law at the University of Warsaw, Professor at the Warsaw University of Humanities and member of the European Parliament. Professor Karski was invited to Armenia by Armenian State Pedagogical University to deliver a lecture on “Relationship between National Law and International Law.”
Minister welcomed his guest and expressed confidence, that a lecture of an experienced specialist in international law had been productive and enthusiastic for the Armenian students. “In order to regulate relations with different states and nations, an important role is assigned to the international law. Armenia has conflict with the neighbouring country Azerbaijan, which is based on various interpretations of international law. But, like Polish people, we haves passed through a long, arduous historic way, and are convinced, that there are fundamental values, that serve basis for international relations”, stated L. Mkrtchyan in his speech. Professor, in his turn, expressed gratitude for the meeting and noted, that Armenia had become home for him and he felt in a friendly environment.
The sides also touched upon such issues, as educational reforms in Armenia and referred to the Polish experience in this sector too.
By a decision of the ASPU Academic Board, ASPU Rector Ruben Mirzakhanyan conferred the title of ASPU Honorary Doctor on Karol Karski.
