EU Ambassador: Education in Armenia on high level among post-Soviet countries

Minister of Education and Science of RA Armen Ashotyan had a working meeting with EU newly-appointed ambassador, head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Armenia Piotr Antoni Świtalski. Minister congratulated the ambassador on his new diplomatic appointment and expressed hope that he would contribute to the continuation and expansion of cooperation.
Ashotyan briefed Świtalski on the education reforms that had been implemented in Armenia in the recent years. The minister also stressed that the country actively participated in the EU’s two largest education projects: Erasmus, and Horizon 2020.
The EU ambassador, in turn, noted that the ongoing education programs in Armenia were rated as effective. He added that a new EU Association Agreement was being developed, and this document would greatly highlight support to education. During the meeting the parties underscored the continuity of cooperation in the following spheres of education: higher education, VET, further and continuous education, as well as formal education.
