A presentation was held today at “Armenia Mariott” hotel to introduce best practices of cooperation between the private sector and VET sphere within the framework of “World skills” competition. The event started with the exhibition of professions presented by Initial Vocational (Technical) and Secondary Vocational Education Institutions. The exhibition was followed by the welcome speech of Armen Ashotyan, Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, who stressed the fact, that vocational education sector had been underestimated for many years.
The revitalization of the sector began in 2007-2008 with the help of EU budgetary support program, to which also joined several international organizations. As a result, an international consortium of stakeholders in this sector was established. Minister added that the expectations from the private sector were not just the organization of the charity events, but investments, also in the form of programs, as a joint program with the private sector is the best investment for the perspective of better economy and society.
“Therefore, we are committed to expand our cooperation with international organizations and private sector, providing if not rapid then consistent development of vocational education ", mentioned Armen Ashotyan.
Experts from RF and Germany introduced international practice, which was followed by discussions.
